Glo – Update 5

So a quick update on last weeks activities:

  • Finish the remaining 50% of beta levels – I’ve got all 25 levels complete now and the first boss. There’s still some fine tuning for the boss but I think it’s pretty much there for the beta test.
  • Generate a banner ready for marketing purposes – I managed to knock up a logo for Glo but I think it needs some refining.
  • Decide on the soundtrack and SFX of the game – I’ve got all the music selected for the game and most of the SFX.

On top of those activities I also managed to start creating the story for the game and finally completed the press list! It was very tedious but it feels great to have it done now. It will need maintaining but the hard part should be done for now.

This weeks tasks will focus mainly on getting the beta ready for release which I hope to have done in the next week or two:

  • Add a menu system.
  • Polish the animations.
  • Polish the levels.
  • Add the plot for the first world.
  • Add remainder of SFX.
  • Mature the banner design.
  • Start making a press kit.

I feel things are going well and still on track for an early October release date. I am starting to get anxious as there is quite a lot to do before Glo is full release ready and I have week holiday planned at the end of August but it’s very exciting times!
