It’s been a really busy yet still productive week. I managed to get some really good progress on most of the tasks to get ready for a beta release:
- Add a menu system – managed to add a start, level select and pause menu
- Polish the animations – got some work done on the death animation but I still need to sort out movement
- Polish the levels – I iterated through the first 25 levels a few times and I’m happy with them for a beta test
- Add the plot for the first world – I matured the plot a lot (specifically for the first 25 levels) but still need to add it into the game
- Add remainder of SFX – I’ve added in all the SFX but I think I need to iterate a few times over them to make sure they sound right
- Mature the banner design – I fully completed the banner logo for the game. I’m really happy with the design me and Hayley came up with
- Start making a press kit – I got a lot of progress done on the word side if the press kit. I’ll be getting a journalist mate to have a look over it to give me some pointers
This week I’m planning on putting Globout for a beta test. The aim is to get it out for Thursday. So this weeks tasks will be around getting the final things ready for beta release and then managing how the test is going:
- Give the animation and SFX a once over.
- Add the plot for the first world.
- Fix a known camera glitch.
- Put beta version out.
- Spread the word for beta testers.
