Hi everyone, let’s get straight into it! Last week I set out to:
- Create all variations of hairstyles and facial hair for male and female – after a bit of messing around with the Blender Sculpt mode I finally figured out how to modify the hair meshes to make the different variations. I’m really pleased with the selection now and it’s easy to add new ones should the need arise!
- Create all skin variations for male and female – creating the skin variations was an easy task of changing the colour values in Paint.net to make the variations. While making the variations I noticed that all the males had angry faces. So I decided to add in a more relaxed face look also to provide more variability to the look of the models.
- Ensure colour combinations of hair etc are aesthetically pleasing – colour combinations proved a little trickier than I thought. Long story short I basically use the natural looking colours for the facial hair, natural and dark colourful for male hair and all colours including vibrant ones for females.
- Start looking at clothing – I didn’t get round to looking at the clothing.
Instead of moving straight onto the clothing I decided to start making more environments. There’s two reasons behind that; firstly I think it will be more interesting to see the progress from a community point of view and secondly I really enjoy making the environments :).
Time Management
This week’s task list is going to have to be a bit smaller than normal. The reason being, we’re on holiday this week and although I had full intention to do some game dev, I actually forgot to bring my laptop with me!! Therefore this week will focus a bit more on research.
- Look at options for clothing
- Look at options for UI changes
- Look at options for wall/window variations
- Create some more external environments
