Game Development So Far
Hey all! Super late update this week but it’s for a good reason! First of all let’s look at last week’s plans and progress
· Look at options for clothing – after looking at my options I’ve currently settled on the idea of handling clothes through the colouring of the textures. I’ll give this a few goes before I make a final decision to ensure it looks good
· Look at options for UI changes – other than looking at some research pics on Google images I’ve not made any other progress on the UI
· Look at options for wall/window variations – I’ve found a few assets I think could work really well with the gym ideas I have. Once I’ve gotten these implemented into the game I’ll roll out some screenshots and we should have some nice varied gym styles on the way.
· Create some more external environments – this has taken up most of my time. I’ve been doing real world location research as well as building some environments in the game itself. Due to the nature of the research this I why I haven’t had as many progress images to show this week.
Other Developments
So I said there was a good reason as to why this update is late and that is because I have some great news! After having a difficult 12 months with a couple of failed pregnancies I’m over joyed to let you know we are expecting our second baby. My wife had her 12 week scan this week and everything is looking perfect so far! We are past the point of the last two times which both didn’t get past 9 weeks and the 12 week stage is the first major milestone. I can’t tell you how amazing it was to see that little person kicking about on the scan J. Fingers crossed everything goes well this time; there’s something about this summer that makes me feel that everything is going to be great! Game dev is still very much a priority in my day to day schedule and always will be this now just gives me even more of a passion to make a success of it all for me and my family!
Time Management
Soooo, this week’s task list is:
· Test the idea of using textures as the primary method for giving characters clothes
· Add more external environment updates
· Look at UI updates
